We’ll visit the old town, with its 18th-century Clock Tower and 15th-century Old Bridge, and the remains of the fortress at the confluence of the Ribnica and Morača rivers. We’ll also see the modern Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the 16th-century Church of St George. Transfer to Budva. Dinner included.

Day 2: BUDVA – ST. STEFAN – VIRPAZAR – BUDVA

town, which is the site of one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. We’ll see the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity and the Catholic Church of St John, which stands opposite, as well as the Church of St Sava and many others, from the outside.  We’ll continue on to Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans, famous for its biodiversity.

On the way, we’ll stop for a panoramic view at the Sveti Stefan Peninsula to admire the enchanting landscapes of this area. An exclusive experience on Lake Skadar: we’ll take a boat trip to the paradise of Pjesacac. In Pjesacac, we’ll enjoy a traditional Montenegrin lunch featuring organic lake-caught fish, which is completely different from the sea fish found along the coast. Return to Budva. Dinner at your leisure.

Day 3: BUDVA – PERAST – KOTOR – BUDVA

We’ll start the day with a boat trip to Perast and the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. We’ll set off for the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: these fjords on the Adriatic coast cut deep into the hinterland, creating historic natural harbours. The name derives from the city of Kotor, whose ancient history is contested between the Illyrians and the Romans.

After Roman rule, Kotor was under the Byzantine Empire until 1185 and was subsequently influenced by the Venetians. A seafood lunch, where you can sample specialities from the Adriatic. We’ll visit the old town, taking a stroll through its narrow alleys and elegant streets. Return to the hotel in Budva; dinner at your leisure.

Day 4: BUDVA – LOVCEN – NJEGUSI – CETTIGNJE – PODGORIZA

Breakfast. We will travel through Lovćen National Park, which is significant for the cultural heritage found within its boundaries. The village of Njeguši is also situated within the national park, home to the birthplace of the ancient Montenegrin royal family, the Petrović-Njegoš.

This village retains the traditional features of Montenegrin architecture, particularly the ancient stone houses. Tasting of the famous sir cheese and prosciutto in Njegusi. We shall continue to the town of Cetinje to visit the former princely residence of Nicholas I, King of Montenegro, and explore Art Nouveau buildings, Malo Guvno Square, parks, embassies and churches that lend the town a charm of days gone by. Onward journey to Podgorica. Dinner included.
